Ready to Thrive

Health and business go hand in hand. The way we treat our business, will likely represent the way we treat our body. If you are spreading yourself too thin, the cracks will likely show within your business processes.

As health, both physical and mental, has taken a forefront approach to businesses in recent years, there has started to be an improvement on ensuring employees and business owners maintain a work-life balance. With each individual dancing the line between Happiness Influences and Profit Producing Opportunities, there has come a realisation that you can achieve both – without putting your body and mind on the line.

Coming from the healthcare industry herself, Racheal Lee, Founder of Thrive Natural Therapies, has witnessed first-hand the effect burnout and a lack of energy has on ones personal and professional success.

“My passion in natural health, as a naturopath I treat my patients holistically; looking at their nutrition, hormonal balance, adrenal, and emotional health and wellbeing,” says Racheal.

“Overall helping patients come back into alignment, through natural medicine – herbal medicine, nutrition, and lifestyle advice.”

As entrepreneurs and business owners are renowned for putting in the long hours and hard work to maximise the chance of success, Racheal emphasises on the importance of business owners putting their health first. With burnout being ever so impotent in the business world, owners and operators need to highlight the importance of their health and energy for the long-term success of their ventures.

“If you don’t have your health, you don’t have energy,” says Racheal.

“At the end of the day, we are all seeking energy that we can put into our business and personal life.

“I think there is a shift now and people are understanding that it is not just about how many hours I can do or how much work I can do.

“It is about working smart and looking after your body so she can show up and can give your best work and have the energy for your work.”

The easiest way to improve your energy levels is ensuring that you get a good night’s rest.

“Sleep is a priority,” says Racheal.

“Our circadian rhythm is a 24-hour clock; you wake up with the sun and go to bed at night, and if we try to fight against that it causes adrenal fatigue and burnout.”

In a health and performance obsessed society, there is a wade of information to sift through in finding the right sleep schedule for one. The best way to know what the right sleep for you is to listen to your body and follow the guidance of medical and holistic sleep experts. With a thorough understanding of the importance of sleep, you will be ready to tackle all the day may throw our way.

“I feel like we all need to make sleep a big priority, even if that means going to sleep a little earlier or sleeping in a little bit more to receive that rest, you will be able to show up with more energy that day,” says Racheal.

“Sleep is underrated. It is where your hormones reset, your testosterone boosts, you grow muscle, your immune system kicks in.

“Everything happens when you get that good quality sleep.”

With her health and avoiding burnout on her mind, Racheal has expressed her goals to successfully work from home with a dynamic team that expands her online branding.

“In a professional sense, my main goal is to work from home, and maintain a strong online presence,” says Racheal.

“The team at Hippo has definitely helped me with that by finding the right virtual assistant for my business.”

The team at Hippo Business Services has helped Racheal systemise and outsource her marketing and administrative tasks to her Virtual Assistant, Samera. With an extra pair of hands-on deck, Racheal and Samera have been able to conquer all the business obstacles thrown their way.

“My VA, Samera, has given me a lot of confidence,” says Racheal.

“Last night, I had a live masterclass talk, which she helped with marketing it.

“It was 7 o’clock and she jumped on with the girls, watched the entire live, and waited to the end to participate in the Q&A.

“She didn’t have to do that, but she has just really got my back and I know she wants me to succeed; I feel like that I have a really good, open and honest relationship with her.”

Working in entrepreneurship, it is important to maintain a strong relationship with your team, whether that be in person or online. Racheal’s relationship with Samera is a prime example of how you can have a professional yet friendly relationship.

“We definitely have a professional relationship; we say good morning every weekday and ask how each other is,” says Racheal.

“We do communicate a lot through Asana, so it is fantastic that we have the same tools to be using to be very transparent, and she understands what our needs.”

With the time and confidence to conquer all her wildest professional dreams, Racheal has been able to spend more time giving back and helping her clients perform at their best.
