At Hippo Business Services, we believe that the business-client relationship is founded on a mutual exchange of values and shared ideas.
Together, we want both Hippo Business Services and its clients to grow together. It provides both parties with the opportunity for growth. Most importantly, our clients are more than just a one-off sale; their long-term success is our success.
The growth of a business lays within the role of Sales and Business Development. At Hippo, we are fortunate to have a strong Business Development team that has seen growth from day one and before.
At the heart of this growth is Zach Hart, a key person in Hippo’s growth and development.
“My main responsibility is to drive internal sales and bring in new clients for the VA side of the company,” says Zach.
“I also build sales systems and processes for the Hippo Business team, as well as train staff.”
Having worked with one of Hippo’s directors for a long time, Zach is an exceptional example of someone who has grown tremendously from developing the skillsets of his mentors.
His role at Hippo has proven to be beneficial to both him, and his clients, freeing them up to focus on other business-related matters.
“It’s been really cool actually. I’ve been able to see them grow from busy business owners to people that have a lot more free time to focus on developing the staff and company,” says Zach.
“They have gone from working in the business to being able to work on the business.”
This freed up time has provided our staff at Hippo with more opportunities to interact and learn from other like-minded businesses and people.
“Our directors and larger team have refined a lot of systems,” says Zach.
“They’ve helped us with traveling, networking opportunities with different offices across Australia, and the opportunity to meet amazing people that can teach us a lot.”
To see the fruits of his labour and training pay off, is a remarkably fulfilling experience for Zach. Bearing witness to the success of his mentors inspires him to achieve far greater things.
“Seeing their success, makes me want to be able to do that myself. Yeah, definitely.”
The key to being a successful sales team leader, is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the client’s needs and wants through crystal-clear communication. Identifying profit-producing opportunities for one’s clientele is pertinent in developing a relationship built on trust.
“The main thing I want to be able to do for someone is resolve their problem. I find out what’s bothering them, and I find a way to fix it,” says Zach.
“And the way I do that is by offering them a tailored solution. The most important thing is making them a fan of the business, not just making a sale.”
However, success is a goalpost that is constantly shifting. As Hippo Business Services looks towards the future, Zach’s main goal is to build upon the foundations of the business as it pivots into unexplored territory.
“Probably the biggest thing for us at the moment is just scaling the team to match the new business we’re bringing in,” says Zach.
“We want to be tapping into multiple industries and developing more sales techniques to keep us involved.
“Right now, it’s about growing a team that will help us make the most of those opportunities.”
As the road to success constantly evolves, our staff at Hippo Business Services remains steadfast in its dedication to achieving nothing short of excellence. Hippo Business Services will continue to foster strong relationships with both old and new clients as we forge ahead.
